Wonderful vintage 1st US edition copy of Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery. Published in 1939 by The Frederick A. Stokes Company of New York. The hardcover book is in acceptable condition for its age, with wear to the cover, edges, and spine. The binding is starting to become loose but is still intact. This is a US fist edition as identified by: The boards are of medium blue cloth. The text on both the cover and the spine are stamped in gold (gilt) lettering. The top edge of the pages (when looked at from above while the book is closed) are a greenish-blue topstain. The story ends exactly on page 323. There is a beautiful color illustration facing the title page, protected by a thin piece of tissue paper (caption tissue guard). Later editions removed this color plate to save production costs
